Other forms: literary agents
A literary agent is someone whose job is representing writers and helping them sell their work to book publishers or film producers. If you want to be a novelist, you could submit your writing to some literary agents!
Although not all successful writers have literary agents, for many it's the first step toward selling their books or screenplays. A fiction writer's literary agent will send stories or manuscripts to magazines and publishers. Film and TV writers use literary agents to connect with producers and movie studios. Like other agents, literary agents are usually paid a percentage of the purchase price for the written work — so it's in their best interest to negotiate good deals for their clients!
